WoPhO
Please note that there is a new competition – the World Physics Olympiad, which is aimed to let you challenge the IPhO champion. All the gold medalists of the IPhO-2012 will receive a travel grant to Papua, Indonesia, to attend the 2nd WoPhO. However, getting an IPhO-gold is not an easy task, and the success depends also on random factors; to be on a safe side, you are recommended to secure an invitation and a travel grant by solving the selection round problems of the 2nd WoPhO (which can be downloaded at the WoPhO homepage)! Note also that you can partcipate in WoPhO even if your country does not participate in IPhO.
